Congratulations Gary for being nominated as Member of the Month for October 2018. Since joining in March 2017, Gary has gone from strength to strength in his training, showing the 8 week challenge as one of his biggest achievement.  He is one of the friendliest guys in the gym with a big heart.  Gary, keep smiling and well done on the amazing journey you have been on.  Keep it up Buna!

What do you enjoy most about training at Core Strength?
I enjoy the friendly environment and awesome Coaches.  It is hard to find a space where you feel welcomed and where the Coaches actually have care factor.

What has been your biggest achievement from training?
Running 10km with CSF friends.  Most of us in this group have never run long distance before.  We decided to train 2-3 times a week on top of our CSF classes.  This really challenged me mentally and physically.

What’s one challenge you’ve overcome since training at Core Strength?
Overcoming my alcohol intake.  Now I am able to say “I’m not going to drink this time.”  I used to be a huge binge drinker now the idea seems pointless to me.  I have more energy for other activities rather than being hung over and staying in bed for the most part of the day.

What message do you have for those who may struggle to start their journey in getting healthier and fitter?
The first step is the hardest.  When you surround yourself with like minded people it makes the journey a lot more fun.  Set small goals and work towards them.  I believe it is a lifestyle change and not just a quick fix.
