What do you enjoy most about training at Core Strength?
The friendly and strong humans I’m surrounded by! Including & especially the coaches. The last thing you want is to feel intimated, it’s definitely not the case as Core Strength – you can be your best self here.
What has been your biggest achievement from training?
The biggest achievement is losing the unwanted weight and toning up, which I never thought I’d see (I was a fat kid growing up, still am at heart).
Now that I’ve reached my original goal, it’s the desire to be fitter / stronger / better, always improving my form in every aspect of training, whether its kickboxing or weightlifting.
What’s one challenge you’ve overcome since training at Core Strength?
Confidence. I’ve always been (not just a fat kid) but also very quiet growing up, so I’ve hesitated with a lot of things. I still am quiet — but now I’m much more open, I know I can do what my mind & heart says I can.
What message do you have for those who may struggle to start their journey in getting healthier and fitter?
Make training a positive habit, part of your routine & lifestyle.
Start with Day 1, then 2, 3, 4…….100. You may fail once or even a few times, and thats okay — just get the hell back up and don’t look back.
Like a family!!!!! but one that you choose, not one that your born with.
Fabulous instructors that work along side you every step of the way.
Excellent facilities and big smiles as soon as you go through the entrance.

Joining this fabulous gym community was a great decision for me. I wanted to get back to a fitness routine to tone and get stronger. I have been absent from regular fitness regime with taking care of the children, family, including work commitments over past 15+ years. I have not trained in a gym environment with weights and equipment so I had to transition and learn quickly but also at my own pace, to be safe and work on technique first. The Coaches are nurturing, amazing, dedicated fitness champions who want to bring out the best in you at the training sessions. The gym members are welcoming and together we learn to encourage, push each other to improve at our sessions. Not forgetting there is usually some crazy banter (a lot of laughs) and dancing (yes! dancing) that occurs when training. I train in the morning and look forward seeing the members (& coach of course!) to start my day. Thank you for being a part of my daily routine. You guys rock!
I have been training at CSF for just over 12 months. I train in the morning and attend the strength and conditioning, olympic weight lifting and box hit classes. In that time, I have increased my strength and now can bench press more than my body weight, dead lift double my body weight and squat almost double my body weight as well as do movements I couldn't before like double unders and kipping pull ups. Sylvia, Sonia and the rest of the team's knowledge of fitness, pre-hab and rehab exercises have ensured that I have been able to train effectively and safely. The classes are fun and engaging and I look forward to coming in each morning. I've also been able to make friends at the gym which has been important to me having relocated inter-state a few years ago. Put simply, CSF is the best gym I have ever been a part of.
I have been a member of Core Strength Fitness Richmond since 2017 – and I absolutely love it! The community and supportive environment that Sylvia and the coaches have created is something I have not found in any other gym. From novices to experienced athletes everyone’s fitness goals are catered for. The coaches are incredibly supportive and share their wealth of knowledge across all aspects of physical health and fitness as well as mental fitness. We are so fortunate to have such experienced coaches that give their time and knowledge even after we leave the gym each day.
The group classes are varied and challenge all fitness levels. The coaches take the time to get to know each member and tailor movements and exercises to support any injuries that we have and ensure that these injuries are managed. I recently had a shoulder injury and the coach took the time to write specific a program and exercises to help manage and the injury and ensure I could still train and also provided targeted rehab exercises.
This is an amazing gym, a great supportive environment where staff and members encourage you push yourself to get results and achieve your personal fitness goals. I could not imagine starting my day anywhere else.
One of the best gyms in Melbourne. All classes feel like a PT session rather than just a standard group class and all the coaches are absolutely amazing and keep you motivated to achieve your best. There are no egos and you are made to feel so welcome by everyone that you want to keep coming back.

The team at Corefit are exceptional but Sylvia Lokollo runs the ship 🚢 like the captain of the Queen Mary.

The hardest part was starting, but that day I remember with great fondness. Now it’s our second home and we have an awesome second family.
This is a great gym if you want to feel welcome and relaxed and get super fit. All the instructors make sure you exercise correctly and watch out for you so you don't injure yourself. Routines are always changing making it interesting and fun. Would give it 6 stars if I could.
Amazing trainers and outstanding crew. Couldn't imagine training anywhere else. Sylvia and Sonia know their stuff and are always on hand to help. Great soundtrack too (lots of Nelly).
Since joining CSFC afew weeks ago it's been one the best experiences I've ever encountered in terms of training. The coaches have established an environment where anyone, no matter what stage you are in terms of fitness, can come in and feel accepted and motivated.
I've since engaged in many exercises that I've never done before therefore pushing my boundaries and learning to be more aware of what I am doing. Even little things we take for granted like breathing for example. It is extremely crucial to breath efficiently in order to perform the exercises.
Thanks to our amazing coaches Sonia & Sylvia for keeping us in line and for making me feel like I can do anything. I am looking forward to my first 1RM week.

If you want to be challenged and pushed outside your comfort zone to see exactly what you're capable of, then CSF is the place for you. The coaches are incredibly knowledgeable and supportive at every level. Most importantly, it's fun and you're guaranteed a laugh with the team!
This is definitely not your typical gym. There's a wide variety of unique group sessions taught by highly educated and experienced coaches, who take the time to get to know you as an individual to get you the results you want.
